Henry Lewy and Andy Markley

In the early 1980s, Henry Lewy, who produced Jimmie's The Dragon is Dancing LP, produced a song of mine called "The Iron Fist in the Velvet Glove". This is a snapshot my friend Rick Cahill - who produced the first album for The Moderns (a band I worked with eons ago) took of Henry and me taking a break while working on the track.

That's Paul Delph's old Prophet 10 keyboard on the right. Paul, who produced Jimmie's last album, Spheeris, worked on the track... and the final mix was made at his Magic Bus studio in Malibu, California. Paul died of AIDS in 1996.

Henry was a remarkable, kind, brilliant man - I remember him with the greatest affection and respect. His repertoire includes many classic LPs for artists across the musical spectrum, including Jimmie's friend, Joni Mitchell.
